Arbikie Ak’s Gin

R599.00

From Scotland’s Arbikie distillery comes a gin which honours the father of the distillery’s owners – Alexander Kirkwood Stirling. AK’s Gin is made with wheat and honey farmed at Arbikie, alongside black pepper, mace and cardamom. What’s more, the gin supports a worthy cause, and the distillery donates £1 from each bottle to motor neurone disease charities. The honey comes through clearly, bringing creamy sweetness to the palate. Helpings of peppery spices and oily juniper give it some balance.

Arbikie Kirsty’s Gin

The second release from Scotland’s Arbikie Distillery is Kirsty’s Gin, a tasty tipple crafted using a base spirit made from estate-grown potatoes (King Edward, Cultra and Maris Piper varieties) and a small selection of botaicals – Juniper, Kelp, Carline Thistle and Blaeberry. It was named after Arbikie’s Master Distiller, Kirsty Black.

Distillery Road

R249.00

A modern gin for the contemporary gin drinker. A wonderful mix between old and new. Distillery road (or DR and tonic) blends the contemporary taste with the London dry method. Distillery Road leads with top notes of lime and coriander on the nose, following on the palate with distinct warmth from the use of cracked black pepper leading the ginger to create a warm rounded mouthfeel. The mid palate lingers with the warmth of black pepper allowing the more subtle notes to sink into your palate. These subtler notes contain perfumed notes of fynbos such as Confetti Bush and lemon pelargonium. Finally rounding this subtly spicy gin, the root base of Angelica carries it through to the finish.

Strawberry and Balsamico Gin

R549.00

They’ve created an astoundingly decadent tipple with Strawberry & Balsamico Gin. A classic gin base acts as a canvas for the addition of fresh strawberries, strawberry and black pepper distillates and the very finest balsamic vinegar money can buy – Aceto di Balsamico tradizionale di Modena DOP, aged between 12 and 25 years in casks made from chestnut, cherry, oak, mulberry, ash and juniper (of course). So yeah, we HAD to find a way to use it in a gin. Ta-da!
